As I said in my earlier post, I have just learnt how to create newspaper black-out poetry in school with the Brushes application. Today, I got another go at it but my second one isn't finished yet. Though there is something else I'd like to share with you; a video on the process of creating a newspaper black-out poetry piece:

Even though the name of this particular type of poetry is "Newspaper" black-out poetry, you can still do it with other articles of writing. Such as magazines, posters and books!

The Brushes application runs on iPod touches, iPhones and iPads and is really simple to use. You can create real works of art with it, and many artists use it as well!

Hi Mari,

Now I can see how you did it.
It must be a very new form of expression as it relies on computers to create it.
There are so many creative ways to make poems that go beyond rhymes.
What are actually the rules such a poem has to follow?

Aha! So it did work! Good to know. I think your readers are pleased to see how you did it. You'll have to have another go!

If you have time, you might be interested in joining our iPad activity after school on Monday, as we have a couple of spaces. We're looking at Brushes, Garageband etc on the iPad & using our creativity with those. Come & see me if you're keen.
